I just want to say a few words to all of you who visit and send kind comments. This is a time where we traditionally stop to think about the things we’re grateful for. But 2020 has also given us many things that might make that a lot more difficult.
So rather than trying to tell you how to feel or push some “helpful” sentiments on you, I simply want to say thank you to you. Work To The Wise is a labor of love for me. And it means a lot to me to continue to be able to help, even in a small way, with your jobs or careers.
But I’m not going to try to tell you this year hasn’t been a royal pain in the … well, you know … for me, too. It makes me realize how much of an extra load each of you must be carrying. And that many of you might not be feeling grateful for what this year has meant for you and your family.
Even if you’re lucky enough to still have a job, 2020 probably added a lot to your workday and life that you would like to leave behind. Hopefully 2021 will eventually bring easier times for us all. But for small businesses and folks whose jobs might not come back, I’m sure it’s hard to see the sunlight shining through any time soon.
So, if you need to just let it out, please see this as a safe place to share your feelings. And story. Or even things you are grateful for, despite all else going on. Sometimes it’s just good to know that you’re not alone. And if a few kind words might help, it would be my honor to offer that.
The one thing I do know for sure is that in my own life, even when things looked bleak and I couldn’t see the next road, somehow I got there anyway. Not that the new road was always easy or looked like I imagined. Or even hoped at times. But each new path eventually led me to better things. And I wish that for all of you!
Thank you again for your visits, kind words, and hungry eyeballs. 🙂 I look forward to better times. Meanwhile, I’m here and will do my best to keep adding articles and offering advice to help. Or just listen.
