Why resume proofreading?

Because even a small typo can get your resume rejected. So can the lack of relevant key words / phrases that have been programmed by automated screeners to screen & accept or reject applications. Even simple formatting changes can help improve your chances.

As a former hiring consultant, I screened thousands of resumes. And I’ve seen how small things can make or break the screening and actual interview process. One highly qualified candidate had a very embarrassing typo instead of “public service”. Imagine her face when I pointed that out!

But things like that happen more often than you’d think. Even if you’ve carefully reviewed everything yourself, all too often good candidates fail to get through the screening hurdles. It’s so frustrating! So I created this at an affordable rate to provide you with an objective review and some tips to help.

What resume review includes

This is NOT a resume writing service. But if you’d like an extra set of eyes to look things over carefully and offer suggestions, here’s how this works:

(1) Free initial 10-minute call to decide if you’d like my help.
(2) If it’s a go, we schedule a 30-minute feedback phone session.
(3) Submit the service fee to me (see below).
(4) Email me a Word .docx copy of your resume.
(5) I review your resume before our session and make notes to share with you.
(6) And then a 30-minute feedback call including any typos, formatting suggestions, and tips to increase your chances of getting through the screening process.

Payment info

All fees via Paypal or Zelle** must be received before the actual coaching session. If for any reason you need to cancel a scheduled appointment after sending the fee (stuff happens) you’ll receive credit for a session at another time.

**Zelle payment service is free. Most banks have it or you can register easily.
